Effectively eliminates solids handling as a function of sanitary sewersNatural sludge degradation is a function of time, temperature and environment. The SBS has a distributed design that has been optimized for the time, temperature and environment that enables maximum sludge digestion. By comparison, conventional gravity sewers collect sludge at a centralized treatment plant. The centralized approach limits the use of time for digestion as storage of the solids would require a large footprint to house the cumulative sludge volume for years required to achieve total organics digestion. The SBS approach has the effect of digesting all organic materials and what remains is an immaterial amount of grit and other inorganic matter, thus the tanks can effectively eliminate solids handling as a function of sanitary sewers. The minimum window prior to solids handling has been designed into the SBS to be greater than 30 years, dependant on the number of users and connections. |
