Clearford and ASI Water join forces to deliver integrated water operations

Delivering safe drinking water and reliable sanitation takes a team effort. On May 15, we expanded our team and strengthened our capabilities by joining forces with ASI Water, a water and wastewater management business based in Stoney Creek, Ontario.

Announcing the merging of organizations, Kevin Loiselle, President and CEO of Clearford, said, “We are eager to welcome the ASI Water team into the Clearford family. Both organizations have solid track records and an abundance of expertise, and combined we are now the largest private operator of water and wastewater treatment facilities in Ontario.”

For Wilf Stefan, Chief Operating Officer of Clearford, the partnership marks the start of a promising new chapter for the company: “The experienced professionals at ASI Water – including a strong senior engineering group – share our commitment to the delivery of high-quality integrated water-related services. Going forward, we are confident that our unified team and combined expertise under the Clearford banner will raise the bar for the delivery of water and wastewater solutions across Ontario and beyond.”

Spurring synergy and growth
Combining organizations with complementary capabilities can spark significant synergies, and teaming up with ASI Water certainly creates exciting new opportunities for growth and leveraging our expanded operational capacity.

Both ASI Water and Clearford provide comprehensive services related to water and wastewater management, including planning, design-build performance, operating, and maintaining facilities. Clearford also manufactures treatment systems and offers project financing. As such, there is an opportunity to provide a more robust offering and create new revenue streams by making our treatment systems and project financing available to a broader client base.

“There is also considerable potential for delivering better service as a result of enhanced geographic coverage,” notes Mr. Stefan. “Both Clearford and ASI Water are active across southern and eastern Ontario. However, with project sites sometimes spread far apart, delivering efficient operations and maintenance services can be a challenge. Together, our new combined operations team will alleviate this challenge with a larger critical mass of project sites and more personnel to provide faster response times.”

Delivering decentralized solutions
Our strategic focus at Clearford is on providing comprehensive, end-to-end solutions for communities, companies, and other stakeholders to access safe drinking water and reliable wastewater service. In particular, we are committed to driving growth and innovation in the decentralized water and wastewater management sector.

“Cities are typically well served with centralized water and wastewater infrastructure. However, this is often not the case for smaller communities or commercial operations located away from major cities,” explains Mr. Stefan. “In these situations, a reliance on inefficient water sources and ageing septic systems can be an impediment to health, safety, and economic development. That’s where I see great potential for Clearford to make a difference.”

At Clearford, we strive to help people and organizations overcome this barrier with safe and reliable decentralized systems. With our team strengthened by the partnership with ASI Water, we are now in a better position than ever to tackle these challenges as a leading provider of water and wastewater management solutions.
