Sanjay Deshpande named one of the Most Impactful Smart City Leaders on World CSR Day 2019
Sanjay Deshpande, the Executive Director & Head of Operations for Clearford India Pvt. Ltd., has recently been awarded one of the 51 Most Impactful Smart City Leaders globally. The World CSR Day attracts leaders from Asia, Africa and North America and has been a landmark event of strategic significance to the Smart City Work over the past three years. The World CSR Congress is a not-for-profit body that attempts to organize the annual meet with the objectives of Learning & Development, and Networking & Recognizing Leaders who contribute value and make a difference in their profession or organization.
Being selected as one of the 51 Most Impactful Smart Cities Leaders reflects Mr. Deshpande’s professional achievement and his peers have proudly endorsed him of his impactful influence. “A Smart City is made up of more than the latest technologies and apps, it is built by understanding the needs of the city, identifying the right solution and applying it,” said Mr. Deshpande. The advisory board that acts as a conscious keeper towards the success of the World CSR Day has vetted Mr. Deshpande and recognized him as a talented, valuable and thoughtful leader.
Mr. Deshpande’s leadership and 24 years of experience working in diverse fields has enabled him to help Canadian, American, Australian, Italian and Indian multinational corporations identify appropriate opportunities to target in the Indian market. He is a Member of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) National Committee of Water and the CII Northern Region Committee of Water, but his contributions do not stop there. Mr. Deshpande is currently developing total sanitation projects in the Indian market using the innovative Clearford One technology, which allows all domestic wastewater to be collected, transported and treated regardless of whether the available water supply is too low or variable for conventional sewers to work.
Prior to Clearford’s presence in the Indian market, there was a gap between water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) objectives and effective locally sustainable technologies. Mr. Deshpande, along with the rest of the Clearford team, have built a lasting positive change that has bridged the gap. This is a continuous journey that has inspired employees like Mr. Deshpande to provide innovative water management technologies and solutions for long-term sustainability, and commit to establishing CSR projects in communities worldwide.
