Job Summary

A rapidly expanding company with a core focus on the design, construction and operation of water and wastewater systems seeks to engage an Intermediate/Senior Civil or Environmental Engineer to become a member of our team to participate in the design and execution of projects both in Canada and internationally.
The successful candidate will be a Civil or Environmental Engineer, accredited in Ontario, eligible to work in Canada with experience and education from either within or outside Canada. This is a full-time, salaried position primarily based out of Stoney Creek, Ontario, with occasional travel to project sites in all weather conditions.

Job Responsibility

The Civil/Environmental Engineer will respond and interact with clients, consultants, and contractors to effectively communicate technical information. In addition, the Civil or Environmental Engineer will be responsible for, among other duties:

  • Creates conceptual and detailed designs for domestic wastewater collection systems integrated with pump stations and wastewater treatment plants and water storage and distribution networks;
  • Produces documentation and technical reporting of project related specifications and information;
  • Works with a team of management professionals and technicians to develop short and long term plans;
  • Supports project delivery services during the project initiation and planning.

Required Knowledge, Experience and Competencies

  • Must have Ontario Professional Engineer accreditation (or be able to qualify for accreditation within one year);
  • Minimum seven years of engineering design experience in water distribution and wastewater collection and familiarity with treatment technologies;
  • On-site construction/contracting experience is a benefit;
  • Knowledge of municipal and provincial standards and design guidelines, regulatory and public agency approvals process and requirements;
  • Experience with AutoCAD CIVIL 3D and Bentley SewerCAD/WaterCAD design tools;
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft software programs, including familiarity with MS Project;
  • Proficient in technical reporting and documentation of project related specifications and information;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Able to effectively communicate technical information to clients, consultants and contractors;
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Motivated, team player, independent, organized and with strong business acumen;
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment;
  • International travel and travel within Ontario may be required to support project activity;
  • Valid passport is required
